The monoclinic modification of terbium oxide hydroxide, TbOOH, was prepared using hydrothermal technique. The crystal structure was investigated by three-dimensional single-crystal X-ray analysis and was refined to a conventional R-value of 8.1%. The space group is , No. 11, with a = 6.04 Å, b = 3.69 Å, c = 4.33 Å, and β = 109.0°. The terbium atom is seven coordinated with oxygen atoms, and the structure is not hydrogen bonded.The compound is antiferromagnetic with a Néel temperature of 10°K. Neutron diffraction powder patterns were measured at 300°K and 4.2°K. The magnetic super lattice reflections were indexed on the basis of a monoclinic unit cell with the dimensions aM = 2a, bM = b, cM = c, and βM = β, where a, b, c, and β are the dimensions of the chemical unit cell. The structure contains two independent magnetic atoms. A nonclinear antiferromagnetic arrangement of the spins describes the magnetic structure. The spin at one atom has an angle of 43° with the ac plane and the projection of the spin on the ac plane has an angle of 59° with the a axis. The spin on the other atom has an angle of ?43° with the ac plane, the projection having the same angle of 59° with the a axis. 相似文献

Large configuration interaction calculations of the proton—proton coupling constant for several geometrical configurations of the ammonia molecules are reported. The analytical expressions for the energy surface and the coupling constant as functions of two cartesian displacement coordinates are fitted to the calculated values. The potential is used for the calculation of the vibrational wavefunctions for 15NH3 and 15ND3 species and the vibrational averaging of the coupling constant is carried out using these functions. Though the value of the coupling constants shows a very strong geometry dependence, the vibrational corrections are found to be small. A possible correlation of the proton—proton coupling constant with an angular parameter in the NH2 group in RNH2 compounds is indicated. 相似文献

Detergent sequestration using micelles as a hydrophobic sink for dissociated drug molecules is an established technique for determination of dissociation rates. The anionic surfactant molecules are generally assumed not to interact with the anionic DNA and thereby not to affect the rate of dissociation. By contrast, we here demonstrate that the surfactant molecules sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS), sodium decyl sulfate, and sodium octyl sulfate all induce substantial rate enhancements of the dissociation of intercalators from DNA. Four different cationic DNA intercalators are studied with respect to surfactant-induced dissociation. Except for the smallest intercalator, ethidium, the dissociation rate constants increase monotonically with surfactant concentration both below cmc and (more strongly) above cmc, much more than expected from electrostatic effects of increased counterion concentration. The rate enhancement, most pronounced for the bulky, multicationic, hydrophobic DNA ligands in this study, indicates a reduction of the activation energy for the ligand to pass out from a deeply penetrating intercalation site of DNA. The discovery that surfactants enhance the rate of dissociation of cationic DNA-intercalators implies that rate constants previously determined by micelle-sequestered dissociation may have been overestimated. As an alternative, more reliable method, we suggest instead the addition of excess of dummy DNA as an absorbent for dissociated ligand. 相似文献

As bio‐inspired chemical model of the oxygen‐evolving complex (OEC) in photosystem II, a new tyrosine‐modified corrole ligand 3 and its high‐valent copper and manganese complexes 3a and 3b were synthesized and characterized. The copper complexes 1a and 2a of corrole 1 and 2 were also prepared for comparison. The emission property indicates that the emission of ligands 2 and 3 is located at 670 nm, but no emission is observed for their metal complexes due to its suppression by the metal center. The electrochemical study shows that 3a might dimerize at the first two reversible oxidations, a behavior which was not observed in the case of 1a and 2a . The corrolato manganese(IV) complex 3b shows one reversible reduction and one quasireversible oxidation at ?0.17 and 0.77 V vs. Ag/Ag+, respectively. 相似文献

A series of Emivirine and GCA-186 analogues substituted at N-1 with indan-1-yloxymethyl (6a–6c) and indan-2-yloxymethyl (6d–6f) were synthesized by reaction of the corresponding bis(indanyloxy)methans with uracils having 5-ethyl or 5-isopropyl and 6-benzyl or 6-(3,5-dimethylbenzyl) substituents. A route to the corresponding N-1 substituted 4-hydroxybut-2-enyloxymethyl analogue was also devised. All newly synthesized compounds showed potent activity against wild-type HIV-1, the most active compound being 5-ethyl-1-(indan-1-yloxymethyl)-6-(3,5-dimethylbenzyl)uracil (6b), which was 50-fold more active than Emivirine. 相似文献

DNA sequences have previously been reported to act as templates for the synthesis of PNA, and vice versa. A continuous evolutionary transition from an informational replicating system based on one polymer to a system based on the other would be facilitated if it were possible to form chimeras, that is molecules that contain monomers of both types. Here we show that ligation to form chimeras proceeds efficiently both on PNA and on DNA templates. The efficiency of ligation is primarily determined by the number of backbone bonds at the ligation site and the relative orientation of template and substrate strands. The most efficient reactions result in the formation of chimeras with ligation junctions resembling the structures of the backbones of PNA and DNA and with antiparallel alignment of both components of the chimera with the template, that is, ligations involving formation of 3'-phosphoramidate and 5'-ester bonds. However, double helices involving PNA are stable both with antiparallel and parallel orientation of the two strands. Ligation on PNA but not on DNA templates is, therefore, sometimes possible on templates with reversed orientation. The relevance of these findings to discussions of possible transitions between genetic systems is discussed. 相似文献

The conduction mechanism in microcrystalline cellulose (MCC) tablets at varying relative humidity (RH) has been investigated by using the techniques of low frequency dielectric spectroscopy and transient current analysis at room temperature. The dependence on RH on the measured conductivity and charge carrier density indicates that a high-power-law-exponent percolation process of cations being conducted on water molecules occupying available 6-OH units on the cellulose chains is the dominating dc conduction mechanism at RH below 3 wt % of moisture content. The experimentally observed decrease in charge carrier mobility with increasing moisture content shows that protons and H3O+ ions that are being blocked at empty 6-OH sites also contribute to the charge transport process in cellulose at low moisture contents. 相似文献

Efficient mutation scanning techniques are needed for the rapid detection of novel disease-associated mutations and rare-sequence variants of putative importance. The large size of the breast cancer 1 gene (BRCA1) and the many mutations found throughout its entire coding sequence make screening for mutations in this gene particularly challenging. We have developed a method for screening exon 11 of the BRCA1 gene based on restriction enzyme digestion of fluorescence-labeled polymerase chain reaction (PCR) products followed by single-strand conformation polymorphism (SSCP) using an automated capillary electrophoresis system, denoted capillary restriction endonuclease fingerprinting (REF)-SSCP electrophoresis. Using this strategy on a control set of samples, we were able to detect 17 of 18 known sequence alterations. The method was then applied to screen 73 Norwegian females with family histories of breast and/or ovarian cancer. A total of 172 sequence alterations were detected, including substitutions, insertions, and deletions. One novel substitution of unknown function was identified. Sequencing of all samples negative in the capillary REF-SSCP system gave no additional mutations confirming the high sensitivity of the described methodology. Capillary REF-SSCP electrophoresis appeared as a technically convenient technique, requiring amplification of fewer PCR fragments than traditional SSCP. The novel strategy allows high-throughput mutation scanning without radioactive labeling and polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (PAGE). 相似文献

5‐Alkyl‐4‐benzyl‐1,3‐dihydroimidazol‐2‐ones ( 3a‐d ) and 5‐alkyl‐4‐benzyl‐1,3‐dihydroimidazole‐2‐thiones (7a‐d) were prepared via Dakin West reaction on DL‐phenylalanine with the appropriate aliphatic acid anhydrides followed by hydrolysis and reaction with potassium cyanate or potassium thiocyanate. Compounds 3a‐d were alkylated with ethoxymethyl chloride to give the alkylated imidazoles 5a‐d which were considered analogues of Emivirine with deletion of carbonyl group at the 4‐position. Alkylation of 7a‐d afforded the corresponding S‐alkylated derivatives 8a‐p which in a similar way were considered analogues of S‐DABO.
